Principles in Caregiving
The 'Principles of Caregiving training manuals were created under the guidance of the Arizona Direct Care Workforce Committee (formerly Core Curriculum and Expansion Committee) in response to recommendations from the Citizens Workgroup on the Long Term Care Workforce. The Alzheimer's Association Desert Southwest Chapter developed the Alzheimer’s module. This module provides information to help improve the quality of life for those with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, and to reduce caregiving stress and increase job satisfaction for both professional and volunteer caregivers.
The Alzheimer's Module, along with the complete curriculum, can be found at www.azdirectcare.org/Training_Manuals
This curriculum is a public resource and can be used for self study and in classes.
