Our Mission
The mission of the National Alzheimer's Association is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

Our Chapter Focus
In alignment with the National mission, our focus is to equip, energize and ultimately empower individuals, families and communities to provide compassionate and effective dementia care and support in Arizona and southern Nevada.

Memories in the Making Tucson Museum of Art 140 North Main Avenue - Tucson The Desert Southwest Chapter teams up with the Tucson Museum of Art this fall to offer individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias the opportunity to experience and express themselves through visual art in various media. Harnessing the creative process of viewing and creating visual art, these individuals will be able to communicate—even if some may no longer be able to speak—and in doing so share the essence of themselves. It is not unusual for participants to illustrate memories from long ago or something they can no longer find the words to express. Groups of 10-12 individuals will meet once a week in 3-week sessions at the Tucson Museum of Art under the guidance of an artist specifically trained to work with individuals with memory loss and dementia.
