The Desert Southwest Chapter and Evercare are pleased to offer, for the second year, the Evercare Family Tent at this year's Downtown Phoenix Memory Walk!

Evercare's geriatric trained Nurse Practitioners and Care Managers will be available in the Family Tent from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm to provide a supervised relaxation area for Walkers' loved ones who have memory related issues.

Evercare Staff will provide a therapeutic and safe atmosphere within the family tent and will provide visual and physical monitoring. Caregivers must be present at the walk and available by pager or cellular phone during the walk and will be contacted for any emergencies or individual needs that cannot be met by the Evercare Staff. The Evercare Staff will not be able to dispense medications, give direct medical care or medical advice, and cannot assist with advanced personal care or feedings. However, Evercare clinical staff will provide free Blood Pressure and DEXA Scan (Bone Density) screenings to all Family Tent guests.

Activities and snacks will be available. In addition, Evercare Staff will be available to provide education and discuss issues related to aging and chronic diseases.
