THANK YOU!
The 2008 Ball raised over $108,000
The Desert Southwest Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association in collaboration with the Ms. Senior Arizona Pageant is pleased to announce the Fourth Annual Cameo Ball. The 2008 ball helped to create public awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and raised over $108,000 for local support and services to families and individuals affected by this disease.
Approximately five million people suffer from Alzheimer’s disease today. Unfortunately this number will double in the next 15 years. Alzheimer’s disease costs American business $61 billion a year, according to a report commissioned by the Alzheimer’s Association. Of that figure, $24.6 billion covers Alzheimer’s disease health care. The remaining $36.5 billion covers costs related to caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, including lost productivity, absenteeism and worker replacement. Many companies in our local area are experiencing such associated costs.
As mentioned earlier, all proceeds from the event will be used at the local level to support the critical programs and services provided to individuals, families and caregivers affected by this devastating disease. Over 100,000 individuals in the Desert Southwest Chapter have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. This number does not take into account the families and caregivers whose lives are changed by the disease as well.
Remember, what is raised here, stays here!
We would love to see you at the Cameo Ball next year! To be put on our list of invitees, please call 602-528-0545 and ask for Darcy!
